Provided by YP.comMy father has a account with netspend,when he passed away,i contacted them to close out his account,and send the funds to his son,they requested a death certificate,notarized letter from son stating who he was,with a copy of DL,i faxed the info. And was told the funds would be sent in 20days.3weeks later i get a call from a rep. Saying that they would not release the funds?i told the rep. The funds were to pay for funeral,at that time i was asked for a copy of funeral balance,i had it faxed over,and they still refuse to release the funds.What type company is this,who are they to make the greiving over a dead loved one worse,it is not there money,and should be released to the family,those who are reading this should know that the company has lied and deceived are family,and in my opinion, should not be trusted at there word,and for sure not money.

Provided by YP.comThis business does not deserve the rating of a single star but I can't comment without giving them something. Their customer service manager finally admitted to me that they have been lying to me about following up on my dispute of unauthorized charges for the past month. My spouse is on disability and we try to live off $600 month. To have $413 in unauthorized charges against our account is one blow but to be told by the very people who are hired to protect our account that they have been lying is not business that I want to continue with. The customer service people say that there is no way to reach any one in upper management ... Mr. Russ Metcalf is the Vice President of Customer Service (according to the BBB website) and his number is 512-532-8200 x8285. Of course, I have left him a message and have sent over three faxes requesting a call back - I seriously doubt I'll ever hear back from him! My suggestion, find another pre-paid company to use, this one is not faithful in helping their customers - they don't appreciate the fees they charge me every month!

Provided by YP.comthe number listed is for an extension, (there is no extension number for customer service,) or to leave a message. i did find they always returned my call with an hour or so. i also found another number 866-675-4224. while there is someone to answer the phone there, the assistance was not as good. so if you have an hour or so to spare out of your life, the 514 number is probably better. i am in the middle of a payroll direct deposit, (day one of two days,) so i am unsure how great this service is.

Provided by YP.comI was given a $50 gift card. Tried to use it a few times but it was never accepted. Followed instructions to website but it would not recognize the number as valid. Called customer service. They said there was a hold on the account (for reasons unknown) but they corrected the problem so it could be used. Attempted to use it again, but it would not go through after numerous attempts. I'm publicly embarrassed every time I attempt to use the card. I called my friend who gave me the card. She contacted them - regarding my card and the others in her possession - and got the same run around response with no apology or real attempt to resolve the issues. There is something seriously wrong with this way this company does business. It's easy to give them your money (including a fee to do so) but difficult (if not impossible) to use the card. A monthly charge is deducted as time goes on. My $50 card is now worth $40. I'll be lucky if there's anything left by the time the card actually works at any check out register. Beware.

Provided by YP.comA year ago I had a netspend account but lost the card when I went overseas to Iraq. My card was fraudulently used and so I reported it. I never heard anything from netspend about my claim but since it was only $100, I just left well enough alone. Today I opened a another netspend account and put $2,000 on the card. When I went to use the card they declined all my purchases and when I called to inquire, they told me because of fraudulent activity on the previous account, I was no longer able to have a netspend card. Further, the new account that I just opened would be unusable and the $2,000 I used to open the account would be sent to me after 20 business days!!! That $2,000 was my entire paycheck!! How am I supposed to pay my rent, feed my children, or take care of medical bills for the next month while they play with my money. More importantly, if the company decided they didn't want me to have an account, why didn't they decline my application for the card instead of charging me $10.00 for the card and then keeping the other $2,000?

Provided by YP.comIf you have a problem with this company every time you call the customer service you are charged a fee. You can only hear an automated system and can never get through to someone to help you solve your problem. This company is just another scam on charging you fees when you are required to do something by them. There are constant messages about "you can get these services for free by going to the website, but the website will not let you get the information either.

Its main method of operation is to delay activation of the card for months, repeatedly charging activation fees and deliberately delaying activation. They reduce the value of the card during the time they are obstructing the cardholder's efforts to use the card, so that even if the cardholder is ever able to use the card it is worth less than expected. Their customer service staff claims they cannot do overnight mail and they do not have access to email. How believable is that? I would never use this company again and I would strongly advise anybody else not to use the company.
