Madison at Walnut Creek may lo...

Madison at Walnut Creek may look and seem nice at first, especially when they're looking for new residents to come live in their apartments. My fiance and I thought this would be a nice place to continue living with our current roommate, though over time, we've discovered that this place was not exactly all that it was made out to be. For one thing, we weren't even given copies of our signed contracts in case we were ever in need to do some scrutinising of the contract versus Texas state law if and when it boiled right down to it.

In our current apartment, we have made comments and complaints when we go in to pay our rent that our neighbours above and right next to us are loud, and disruptive. This is in violation of the "quiet enjoyment" right to tenants renting any property within the state. Nothing was ever done about our disruptive neighbours, and our upstairs neighbours were even up around 2 - 3 in the morning, being really noisy while my fiance and I are trying to sleep! It's even worse, since I am a light sleeper at times. This has been going on the past six months that we have been living here.

Another downfall to the apartments is the horrid kitchen situation. The stove top coils are always crooked, and it makes it seem like you constantly have to be holding your pot or pan as you're trying to make something so that it doesn't slip and fall down onto the ground. It's a hazard to anyone that is trying to cook and doesn't know that if you let go of what you're cooking, you pretty much have a possibility of having a case of first to second degree burns because they weren't aware that it would slip and fall onto their person.

My fiance and I are also people that love to walk around and explore around the property for exercise and just to spend time with one another. There are many holes in the fence around the apartments that don't get fixed for the longest time even when brought to attention. What's even more alarming is that there is a broken gate door on the property that hasn't been fixed for as long as we have been here. So for promising a form of protection, this doesn't make me feel protected knowing that anyone who is willing enough to get in can find these places.

Maintenance is extremely slow around here as well. When we called in to ask them to take care of certain things that are alarming to us, or that we'd need fixed rather quickly, it would take the offices about a week before anyone did anything about it. And this would be after times where we've also called in to ask why our things haven't been attended to yet.

Staff only has two redeeming members, to be honest. Members that I actually like talking with. However, other staff is completely rude and condescending after you've moved in. They're very corporate based, and all they care about is getting your money from you. Even by charging you petty fines for a outdoor rug being where it belongs -- outdoor on the patio. They also charge a $500 security deposit for people not only with bad credit, but no credit at all due to medical conditions. So anyone that would even dare to consider this apartment at all, be prepared for the people that work here to try and nickle and dime you for everything you have.

Their eviction notice is also rather skewed. As it stands, this 'corporate' apartment complex makes it seem like they are above the Texas tenant law and rights state of conduct by issuing you eviction notices without a court signature, and to top that off, their eviction notices aren't even hand delivered by a representing sheriff. Whatever they can try to evict you for, they will try to do by using scare tactics.

I do not recommend this apartment in the slightest, and I honestly feel really bad for anyone that lives here that has gone through Madison at Walnut Creek's abhorrent process.
