The Aviation Division is managed by the Texas Department of Transportation. The division assists cities and counties applying for, receiving and disbursing federal and state funds for reliever and general aviation airports. It operates a fleet of aircraft that serves the transportation needs of state officials and employees. The Aviation Division is also responsible for the maintenance and repair of aircraft. The division administers the Adopt-an-Airport program, which educates about the operation of airports and their economic impact on communities, as well as features opportunities to participate in maintenance programs. In addition, it participates in the Federal Aviation Administration's State Block Grant Program.
