If you are reading reviews to decide if you can trust Guenther's with your car, I will make it easy for you -- ABSOLUTELY YES. I live in the city of Rochester, NY and would not normally have my car in their service as they are about 30 minutes south of me, but my parents live nearby their shop and when my car needed repair while it was in their care, they took it to Guenther's for that work.

It is important to note that I have an inherent mistrust of mechanics having been taken advantage of by bad ones many times as a woman, especially when I was young so it takes a lot to impress me and earn my trust, but Guenther's did it on my first visit which is something I don't say lightly. They were extremely communicative, offered explanations, options, and alternatives to expensive service I needed, and were right on the nose with their repair estimate (they even came in a little under the expected budget!). Their staff was respectful and kind, and my car was in better condition when I got it back than when I dropped it off....they had even re-bolted on a piece of my fender that had come loose when I parked too close to a curb at no charge because it was easy for them to do when they replaced my tires. When my car was ready for pickup, they even took the time to talk to me about things I should look out for in the coming year or two given the age of my vehicle and their mileage. There was no point in time that I felt as though I was being overcharged for any particular item, or told I needed to replace/fix something unnecessary.

I don't know when I will have the opportunity to visit them again for service given that I don't live nearby, but I didn't want to miss the chance to let anyone in their area know that they will find an honest and reliable shop if they choose Guenther's. Please consider reaching out to them if you have service needs, you won't be disappointed.

Services: Car inspection, headlight bulb replacement, tire installation, timing chain replacement.

Finally found a local shop that specialized in imports to care for my older BMW. Not. I had one issue with them that was not that serious, though insulting after my first 3 visits. I spoke with the owner, Mike and first he told me that each time before (they had apparently been keeping some "secret" track) I had been difficult or there had been a problem. I wasn't aware of any prior issues. But apparently, they were. Then he went on to tell me that I was a liar, lying about a specific receipt I had and "all they had was my word about my vehicles mileage" - when no, you have the receipt that shows the mileage when the work was done...he didn't even want to hear that- and then, the backhanded comment about all the other work I had done by BMW of Rochester being "cheap"; for that I got two things; a hollow apology and a don't come back we don't deal with customers that expect to be treated with dignity and honesty. Thanks Mike- better to find out now- and oh by the way, winterize my car, check and change all fluids, put snow tires on and do an all wheel alignment- means all of that- now just stick the tires on which is what I found out you did. I expect much more for my BMW and by someone who calls themselves a BMW Mechanic.
