Provided by YP.comI recently visited Bainbridge Island on a day trip, and stopped in Shirvan Rugs because of the unique jewelry I saw in the window. The owners were so nice, and I got a beautiful ring and bracelet. They have beautiful rugs, and said they deliver, so I will definitely look there next time I purchase a rug! I want to recommend Adem and Birgul Solak of Shirvan Rug Gallery for their knowledge and expertise in fine oriental rugs. I inherited several rugs from my parents, who inherited them from their parents. I had an emotional attachment to the rugs but no real idea of their value, so I asked Adem and Birgul to have a look at them and tell me if they were worth the money to get cleaned and/or repaired (a couple of the rugs were showing the wear and tear of having been in my family's houses growing up with several dogs over the years and four kids.) I had the rugs rolled up and when they came over to look at them, they could tell the style, age and value of the rugs without my even unrolling them, just by looking at the under-side patterns. One in particular caught their eyes and they said it was quite valuable, a handmade Persian rug of over 100 years old. Others were handmade wool rugs from India, Morocco and China. One hand-woven Chinese silk rug was brought by my father from Shanghai about 40 years ago, and they identified it accurately as well. I decided to have four cleaned and two repaired. The valuable Persian had a frayed corner that I was afraid would not look good if repaired, but I was most pleasantly surprised at how beautifully Adem repaired the rug and redid the edging. A photo of the rug is attached and I cannot now tell which corner he repaired. I was given an estimate of the cleaning and repair costs, and they final amount I paid was the same as the estimate. I highly recommend Adem, Birgul and Shirvan Rug Gallery for honest and expert work, as well as unsurpassed knowledge of oriental rugs, contemporary and vintage. They are extremely nice people as well! Photo: I want to recommend Adem and Birgul Solak of Shirvan Rug Gallery for their knowledge and expertise in fine oriental rugs. After working with them on two dog vs rug repairs, and mutliple cleanings - I think they are the best in the business, and no need to leave the island to get your rugs cleaned.Great customer service - and fun turkish jewelry too!

Adem Solak did a FANTASTIC job repairing a 150 year old wool Persian rug my grandparents brought home from their world travels in the sixty's. It was so damaged, I was sure I was going to have to throw it away. Today , it is beautiful. Thanks!

After visiting 6 other rug stores with a variety of experiences, we were happy to walk into this store. We got the exact type of customer service we wanted. The salespeople Birgul and Adem were very attentive but gave us our space to look at rugs on our own. They had a variety of options and we found several that we liked. They were very friendly and allowed us flexibility in allowing us to bring home several rugs to try in the space. We also felt we got an excellent price for our rug. Overall, a really good experience. We also bought a rug pad that was less expensive than what we found online. We would definitely recommend their services and their rugs. Thank you
