Horrible. The veterinarian was not friendly. They were so slow I waited over an hour to get in when they said it would be fast. Every time you go in they just try to sell their product so it ends up costing you a fortune. I will never take my animals to this vet again.

Called for appointment to put my 14yo labradore down, told them he is paralyzed, not only they would not tell me the price for the procedure owner the phone, they said there is charge for exam..... What do you need to exam a 14 years old paralyzed dog for!?

I called for prices on declawing a kitten and wants over $300, not including office visit and lab work ! Affordable now that's a joke.... I'll never use this office...

This vet is awesome! I took my dog here after she hurt her hip, and Dr. Hamilton is super nice! She was really thorough and personable during the visit, and my dog loved her. Will definitely be coming back here, and their prices really are affordable compared to other vets I called.

SO RIDICULOUS!!! Waited for almost 3 hours, Dr. Hamilton was cold and unfriendly, and prices were FAR more expensive that many other vets in town that have been around so much longer with much better reputations! Will NEVER go BACK!!!!!!

I read the bad reviews and I have to disagree. This is one of the most intellectually gifted women that I have ever met. She is not only passionate about her practice, but I wish she practiced medicine for humans. I think the misconception is in the name itself. "Affordable" means just that (she is not a county ran hospital), it does not mean FREE. I am sorry for those who think that owning pets is a cheap commitment. Any pet owner knows that Vet bills are not cheap and unfortunate for you there isn't "Medi-cal" for pets. [*Side Note* Veterinary School is not CHEAP!] So, why should she give her knowledge away for free when she paid handsomely to obtain it? If you can't afford it...well, you shouldn't own a pet! Then there are the reviews about the wait time...YIKES! I bet you had to wait because this doctor took in an emergency case at 4:45p.m. while she was already booked. There is a lot that goes on behind those doors, and I have had the opportunity to see them first hand. While your "regular" vet closes at noon on Saturdays, yeah, she is there till 5:00p.m...and she will see you...so quit whining that you had to wait (poor planning on your part doesn't constitute an emergency on hers. SELFISH PERSON!.) Or better yet, wait till Monday when your vet opens back up and I am sure they will work you in, or go to Animal Emergency where the prices I am sure are way more "affordable". We often over look that the professionals that care for us and are families also have lives too. I have often wondered how this woman does it by working so many hours and still giving her all the next day. I respect her as a doctor and know damn well she gets tired too. Treat her with some respect, because I guarantee that her and her staff will do nothing but do the best for your pet. I will forever use Dr. Hamilton. I will pay the fees, because I know the responsibility that came with owning a pet. So, show some common courtesy to a doctor who is the one getting the bad end of the deal by giving your pet her full professional opinion.... I can honestly say that you are getting top notch care at a decent price. I recommend her today, and will as long as she practices. Thank you Dr. Hamilton.

I just want to say thank you to Dr Hamilton and her great staff. You guys are fabulous so accomidating to the client and their pets. You guys never fail to show your love for each and every pet (& their human) when they come through the door. Thank you for being a such a wonderful and affordable place to bring our dogs.

We have been taking our pets to Dr Hamilton since she opened Affordable Pet Hospital and she is outstanding!!!!!! My husband and I would say absolutely the BEST veterinarian in Bakersfield. We have a very pleasant experience each and every time we take our pet into to her and her wonderful staff. We will never go anywhere else. If your looking for a great vet I highly recommend her and her staff.

I Have been taking my pet to another vet here in Bakersfield for years and just have not been satisfied with the results I have received from them. From customer service to the care of my pets. I decided to try Affordable Pet Hospital because I had heard so many good things about the staff and the doctor. I am so pleased with the level of care that we received! The staff is excellent and Dr Hamilton is OUTSTANDING!! She is the most caring and compassionate doctor that I have ever met and I have had several pets in my lifetime and she is the best!! This lady is knowledgable, caring and very easy to talk to she explains everything to you she wants to make sure you understand exactly what kind of treatment is nessesary if any. We love her and would recommend this doctor to to anyone looking for a great veterinarian in Bakersfield.

we all make mistakes in our lives time to time,my biggest mistake taking my dog to this place so called affordable .caring place .please don't take you'r pet to this place you will regret it like i did.pulling on my pet;s harnes to the scale when she has rash &redness on her skin.so called ann hamilton makes money by crossing her arms ,no smile no compasion to my pet who's in pain from the rash she had did not even looked at wound and said just keep doing what you are doing]]]]] shocking. she does not deserve to have an animal hospital ...heartlessssss[[[

I heard about the place through a woman I met that raved about it, but my visit was anything but fantastic. First of all there were 4 people waiting in front of me in the lobby and keep in mind there is only one vet in the office. It took over an hour from our scheduled appointment time to even be brought into the exam room and after another 30 minutes in comes Dr. Hamilton. She not only lacked people skills but she lacked animal skills as well. She diagnosed my dog with a cold who I had just rescued from the animal shelter and told me to wait in the room as he was contagious and someone would be in to bring me his medications. After waiting another 30 minutes I walked out in the hall and saw all the employees including Dr. Hamilton just standing around chit chatting as if they were the only ones that mattered. I told her that we had been there for over 2 hours and my sick puppy was becoming very restless, so I would take the dog home and come back to pick up the medicine once they had it ready. And by the way she charged me $75 for the medicine alone, which is the most I have ever paid for any of my animals medication. She was far from affordable and one of the least personable people I have ever been unfortunate enough to meet. I would never bring my dog or any other animal there and would certainly not recommend anyone else ever going there.

I'm so glad I found Dr. Hamilton for the care of my older GSD/Greyhound mix. My dog is currently being treated for liver disease--his first real health issue, at 12.5 years old. We're still working out the details of his long-term care (it's kind of a puzzling case), but Dr. Hamilton has been nothing short of fantastic this whole time. She always remembers to call, and will call even on her own time if he's thought of something additional she thinks I need to know. She treats my dog, who can be very "wiggly" and used to have to be muzzled, very well--in fact, she hasn't had to have the muzzle on lately, and even allowed Dr. Hamilton to check his teeth! (That's BIG.) :)

Dr. Hamilton is, without a doubt, the best vet I have ever encountered. Her kindness and caring about the animals is incredible. Shee helped me with my elderly cat, Max, when he was dying. Not only did she not have any problem recommending another clinic, but was willing to work with me when I explained that I simply couldn't afford it. Her knowledge and expertise were impressive, but what was most memorable was his kindness. I would highly recommend her.

If you are looking for good a good veterinary hospital this is it! They are soooooo wonderful with our Maddie & Brinx we love all of the staff at affordable pet hospital you feel like you are a part of their family when your there and the follow up after your appointment is amazing. We love this place!!!

We have been seeing Dr Hamilton for years at the other vet she used to work at. We are so happy for her that she opened her own hospital she is doing a great service for this city. She is compassionate, educated and very very affordable. My grandaughter is a vet in Grand Rapids and she has spoken to Dr Hamilton on occasions and has nothing but great things to say about her intelligence. I am on a fixed income and this hospital is very affordable. Thank you Dr Hamilton and all the staff at Affordable Pet Hospital.

I was taking my 3 dogs 2 German Sheperd and a Mixed Rotty breed I used to take to another vet in Bakersfield. I changed because I had heard nothing but great things about this Dr (Dr Ann Hamilton) WOW everything I had heard was right on!! She was very fistideous in making sure that we kept within my budget becausemy visit was not just a normal check up 2 of my dogs have hip displasia and needed x rays and blood work plus a few medications. I cannot believe that I was able to get all of that done for such an incredable price! I just have to say I will recommend everyone I know to this vet she is the greatest and so compassionate and smart. My husband & I are very impressed with the level of care the staff and Dr showed us and everyone that was there with there pet as well. I have read the other review and all I have to say is no one at affordable pet hospital was afraid of my very large dogs at any time!

Affordable,,,riiiiiiiight! We were quoted a RIDICULOUS about of money for x rays for my dog. We googled and called around to other vets. Found an amazing new vet (that's not afraid of dogs) that is charging us $400 less. Yes....$400!
