So I was playing with one of the top defense attorneys in Bakersfield doing some business , and some guy in a cart came out and said we were parking too close to the tee box, to use the cart path. (he looked like he was on something) But..Okay, Fair enough.. So, the very next hole we see the guy park next to the 17th green when the cart path was available! We couldn't believe it! So after the match I pulled him to the side quietly and asked him why he did that, he started yelling and cussing totally lost his temper, it was very uncomfortable at one point he was so close to my face yelling he was spitting in my face! Needless to say the conversation got heated instantly. He said if I don't like it get the F*** out, Turns out the guy is the owner(so he says)(I thought this was a county course)..But, What a dirt bag, I'm not only never playing golf here again, I am disappointed because I have played here my whole life. I can't believe this course has made a turn for the worst with the management and the conditions. I would highly suggest you be careful when playing here or check out a different course where the managers treat people with respect. You never know when you could be the one embarrassed or in a compromising situation.

Provided by YP.comAnother mature golf course. tons of trees shades the course for most of the day. the course neighbors the Lairdo Prison. i always hope to see something exciting but i have never even seen an officer walking around outside or anything. top notch greens, top notch course, and a pretty good driving range/practice greens, to warm up on. usually not too buisy but there are a lot of occasional tournaments just like most public courses, so you might want to call before hand.

Provided by YP.comMost mature public golf course in Bakersfield. all the trees are fully grown and the entire course has an old school feel to it. great twilight fees (not exactly sure but i think it's less than 20) greens are supurb, nice dense fairways and unmatched overall maintenance. staff is always polite and helpful which really contributes to the feel of the course. easily my favorite public course in Bakersfield. stay classy, Kern River Golf Course.
