Pacific Wood Preserving is a company that makes a large variety of treated forest products designed to withstand exposure to weather and earth. Its products include landscaping timbers, railroad ties, posts for highway signage and guardrails and bridge stringers. The company is also the largest producer of low environmental impact wood preservatives in the United States. A privately held corporation, with more than 100 employees, Pacific Wood Preserving is capable of treating almost 300 million board feet of lumber each year and is a dominant supplier of treated wood products in the Southwest United States. It has facilities in Sheridan, Ore.; Bakersfield, Calif.; Eloy, Ariz.; and Silver Springs, Nev. Pacific Wood Preserving also has a reload facility with a rail spur in New Willard, Texas. The company began operating in 1972.
