It's the best in Bakersfield! And, it just keeps getting better! I wish I could go back to the 1970's and spend 4th grade through JUNIOR HIGH (middle school, bleh!, it should only be for 7th and 8th graders ... putting 6th graders in with the older kids is where the trouble begins) all over again. With the occasional bullies, present even in the 1970's (ever watch "That 70's Show?"), it was still five of the best years of my life! GO WARRIORS !! (Which pansy in Administration allowed Warriors to be turned into STARS? Wonder if another school in the same general area already had a claim to that name? Huh? Huh? NORTH HIGH STARS?!?) I barely recognize the school now -- it upset me when the original school house was moved to Pioneer Village, but the upside is that it will continue another tradition for us that are north of the river. But if they ever bring down the auditorium, every student whoever stepped on Standard School grounds should don signs and picket to ensure it is preserved and not lost to just another old memory. To all who currently go there, and to all of us who once did the same, raise a glass and let's toast the old memories while our children and grandchildren make the new memories they will toast in a year, or two, or ...
