The Childrens School at Saint Johns was founded to provide developmentally appropriate programs to foster the development of children ages three months through six years from the families of Saint Josephs University, The Church of Saint Johns Lower Merion, and the community at large. We believe in the value and uniqueness of each child we serve. Our curriculum is designed to foster the social, emotional, intellectual, spiritual and physical needs of the children we serve, and is based on the belief that young children need to be actively involved in learning through play and opportunities to explore, experience and succeed, as well as on widely accepted theories and principles of child growth and development. The Childrens School has been successful since its inception by providing high-quality care and continues to be driven by its mission today. And, as a result, the school has obtained and maintained significant achievements: Certification by the Department of Public Welfare (DPW), a Private Academic License through the Department of Education (PA), Accreditation from the National Association for the Education of Children (NAEYC), and a four-star rating from the Pennsylvania Keystone STARS Initiative.
