Dr. Alfred Lucier graduated from Union College in Schenectady, New York and earned his medical doctor degree from Albany Medical School. He completed his residency in Ophthalmology at Wills Eye Institute as well as his fellowship in retinal diseases and surgery. Following his internship, he opened Alfred C. Lucier & Associates. Dr. Lucier joined Mid Atlantic Retina in January 2009. Dr. Lucier is board certified in ophthalmology. He is a Clinical Associate Professor of Ophthalmology at Jefferson Medical College in Philadelphia, a Senior Attending, Department of Surgery, Div. of Ophthalmology, and an Attending Surgeon at Wills Eye Institute. Dr. Lucier is also a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology and Otolaryngology, American Board of Ophthalmology, American Medical Society, Pennsylvania Medical Society, Delaware County Medical Society, Fellow with the American College of Surgeons Vitreous Society, Ophthalmic Club of Philadelphia Retina Society, American Academy of Ophthalmology-Honors Award Recipient, Pennsylvania Academy of Ophthalmology, and Vitreous Society. Dr. Lucier is widely published in many ophthalmology journals.
