At first this church and pastor are extremely warm and will shower a new comer with tons of attention while boosting their ego about how much God means for them 2 do in the church. They will promise unconditional love and are especially appealing if you don't have strong family ties. Then you will notice that you must be involved at every church activity or you are covertly manipulated into feeling like you are a bad Christian. You will hear more and more about how submitting to pastor Mitchell is actually submitting to God. Therefore if you don't follow his every instruction for your life including where you move, where you work, who you marry and so on you will be chastised and also shamed. Love will be withdrawn. Finally, if you pay close enough attention to the church as a whole, you will find that everyone is committing adultery like it is going out of style. While the pastor could argue he loves everyone which is why he doesn't judge these people, he is hippocritical as he tells the wives it is their daily their husband is committing adultery and if they kept up their physical appearances, pleased their man every day and was perfectly submissive, this wouldn't be happening to her. In addition the wives are told not to tell their families or outsiders what is going on. The husbands and adulterases are ignored and the wives are constantly told how they must do better. There are some good people in this church, unfortunately they have been brainwashed to not question anything leaving leadership unchecked. Finally, there will be offering after offering in the church and lectures about will a man rob God? Much emphasis is placed on serving the pastor as if he is God but he gives nothing but indoctrination in return. Hope this was helpful.
