On a recent trip thru Bandera, Texas we stopped at MAIN STREET TIRE & AUTOMOTIVE SERVICES for an oil change on our 2006 DODGE CARAVAN . We bought the car new and it has performed well over the last 7 years. Only 79000 miles. We were on a 6000 mile driving tour from California.



We were greeted by Phil and Jan La Barre the owners. Phil and Remington, his # 1 tech inspected the car very closely while changing the oil and filter. They noticed the left rear riding / stop light was not working.



Should be a simple bulb replacement Phil said. On closer examination, they discovered there was no power going to the light fixture at all. Little did I know, that a computer module controls the circuit. They both said ''Jim, we can tap into the other side and run a wire over to the fixture under the rear plastic under the rear hatch door. I said ''GO FOR IT'' .



I was charged 1/2 hour of labor, instead of a $300 module that was a dealer item only.



I had all my lights working again along with new oil / filter and knowledge that every other safety issue like brakes, tires, lights, turn signals, coolant hoses, PS Hoses were all in 100% working order.



I would highly reccomend this company and friendly Texans to any traveler for service and repair. And to think there are only 980 people in Bandera. Makes me want to stay a while.

This shop goes above and beyond! I have had a lot of work done at Mainstreet automotives and have had no complaints! Very affordable and reliabl,I would recommend anyone taking their vehicle here. You would leave happy and always be treated like top priority. Phil is very honest and they have excellent mechanics working their.
