Bangor South Walnut Elementary is a learning center that employs a work force of more than 20 full-time, certified classroom teachers, paraprofessionals, guidance counselors, media specialists, custodians and school nurses. . Located in Bangor, Mich., it also supports programs in special and physical education and Spanish. The school is a part of Bangor Public Schools, which also operates other elementary and high schools with a combined enrollment of over 1,500 students. Bangor South Walnut Elementary also offers transportation, meal, health care and counseling services to students. It maintains a library media center that offers a collection of nearly 5,000 books on animals, biographies, mysteries, fantasies, adventures and humor.
