Based in Banner Elk, N.C., Lees-McRae College has been operational for more than 60 years. Formerly known as Lees-McRae Institute, the college enrolls more than 3,000 undergraduate and graduate students annually. It is approved by the Commission on Colleges of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools, Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs and Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education. Lees-McRae College is a member of the American Association of Presidents of Independent Colleges and Universities and Association of Presbyterian Colleges and Schools. It offers majors in American and Asian studies, anthropology, archaeology, fine and liberal arts, molecular biology, computer science, dance and music, economics, English and environmental science. The college s library provides various services, such as online catalogs, electronic reserves, special services for off-campus students, database access, e-resources, virtual reference desk and other library guides.
