Now that we have used the kennel several times, I feel it is safe to write a review. First, the kennel came recommended to us by our local Vet, which I thought was a plus. We have boarded our Black Lab about 4 times now. Each time, on pick up and drop off, the Kennel has been clean and odors were at a bare minimum. I was impressed, as I expected at least SOME strong odor. The Owner lives on site, and the dogs there always looked well cared for. Yes, our dog ripped up her blanket but one must realize that a dog will suffer separation anxiety, and exhibit behavior it would not normally do at home. The price is extremely reasonable, and it is a comfort that my dog is well cared for when I have to travel and I cant bring her with me.

When I dropped my dogs off at Mountain Vista I was a little nervous about leaving them there. The owner, Dave Bixby immediately put me at ease. He's a dog lover himself and has wolf hounds. If someone takes care of pets all day, then goes home and takes care of more pets, it's pretty obvious he's a pet lover. It's also obvious that he knows what he's doing. He's very competent and the animals there pick up on that and they are more at ease. I found the facility to be clean and roomy! I was gone for a week and when i came back I believe my 2 doggies were reluctant to leave! Dave stole their hearts! LOL. I will definitely use Mountain Vista Boarding Kennels again!
