We were vacationing in Wisconsin last week and looking for local places to eat rather than the chain restaurants. We drove into Baraboo and stopped in for lunch at Jens Alpine Cafe & Soup Kitchen. The atmosphere was quaint, the waitress friendly and the food was delicious. We choose the soup and sandwich special for the day. The chicken pot pie soup was homemade and wonderful. It was served piping hot with bread and assorted crackers. Then the chicken sandwich was brought out that was served with sun chips. It was a lot of food for about $6. We probably shouldn't have eaten the whole meal, but it was just to good to leave. The homemade pies looked great, but we were just to full to eat any more. We highly recommend this restaurant!
