Provided by YP.comRegarding the review from the unfortunate cat owner. I have been taking my pets to BAC for years as well. It is true that sometimes they get it right, and sometimes they don't as with all medical related facilities for both humans and pets. Dr. Weithenhuaer actually diagnosed my cat's hypotrophic cardiac myopathy when I brought her in for just seeming off and lethargic. She called me every step of the way with updates, and also before performing tests for my consent. I have never had such personalized care at any other vets office; I think I've tried just about every one in the area. Even the other Drs at BAC were well above average. I don't necessarily care if they have the best people skills, as some do not, as long as they communicate to me effectively. I've found that these "awkward", for lack of better terms, drs at BAC are not apathetic rather they tend to have an extra special something with the animals, which I prefer over charisma. I wouldn't expect them to pick up the tab for the emergency care, because regardless BAC couldn't have saved the cat. A few days before serious enough heart disease to require euthanasia is too late. They cannot repair heart damage that is already done, but prescribe a human medication with serious side effects to slow the progression of the disease. In my case, the side effects are not worth it. My kitty, 5 yrs later, is still doing well. As a pet owner, I encourage full disclosure of all of your pets' symptoms and previous/current conditions. It does not serve your pet well to "test" the dr as you should work as a team to provide accurate care. If your dr missed something, or if anything is unclear do not hesitate to ask for clarification or alternate diagnoses. If they try to rush or blow you off, do not leave that building until you get a satisfactory answer or clarification. You pay for a service that at least guarantees a clear understanding of what is going on; they aren't above you and shouldn't be allowed to intimidate you either. I've never encountered a problem here, but have learned at the many others and would certainly act accordingly at any vet no matter how long they've seen my pets. People are imperfect, that why medical offices are called practices, but always search for those who do their best to offset imperfections with testing. You should feel comfortable with whomevers' hands you place health.
