I stopped in just to see the shop! I was greeting by smiling faces of two ladies who genuinely loved working at the shop. There was a 'free' alphabet quilt demonstration going on in the lower level and after greeting me they encouraged me to go down and sit in. I'm glad I did! The shop is located in a downtown Barrington historical old house. Not a big place but they have a great selection of fabrics and prices are good. They have everything you need for quilting! I saw a fabric I 'couldn't live without'! And had to get a couple yards. It was a great shopping experience. I will definitely be back!

I visited the shop on a weekday morning. It's in a remodeled historical home with plenty of convenient parking around the side of the house/shop. When I entered, 3 employees were chatting amongst themselves at the counter. Didn't even glance up. No acknowledgement of my presence whatsoever. Not even a "Good morning! May I help you find something?" "Have you been here before? No? Here's what we have ..."They had a wonderful supply of fabric, notions, samples, books, patterns as a good quilt shop should. The basement is home to the Thimbleberries Club and is amply adorned with samples, with plenty of room for club members to work.I could have spent a lot of $$$ here, but chose not to. This shop was rated a "Top Shop" in 2007 by a major quilting publication. I'm wondering if since then, complacency has taken root in the attitude of the staff. If a customer wants to spend a lot, a little, or simply wants to browse, he/she should be greeted politely upon entering. It's not
