Sagano is one of my favorite sushi restaurants in the area. As my husband said, when you hear on the radio that a Japanese baseball player in Chicago names this as his favorite sushi restaurant, you know it's good. The restaurant is fairly small, which means you may be in for a wait during peak hours, but it's worth it. The sake is great, with a wide selection of both hot and cold sake. The sushi is consistently fresh and prepared by excellent sushi chefs who enjoy chatting with those sitting at the counter. There are all the traditional selections in a Japanese restaurant, along with some more creative sushi selections. For those who don't enjoy sushi, there are other options, including teryaki and tempura. It isn't inexpensive, but you don't expect a Japanese restaurant to be, do you?
