This is in reference to the "Artist Retreat" apartment above the Market, NOT the market myself. My friend and I recently stayed there overnight, and had some serious issues with the accommodations which we shared, privately, with the owner via Airbnb. We were answered with a defensive list of minor infractions (not putting towels in the prescribed basket, not emptying grounds from the coffee maker, etc.) When my friend reiterated that we were not trying to hurt the owner's reputation, just to alert them to the problems, we were met with silence. True to her word, my friend did NOT leave a negative review--however the owner waited until the last minutes of the prescribed time on Airbnb to leave a scathing non-recommendation of my friend. Gutless. So now, please let me elaborate on our stay: the sink and kitchen area was uncleaned when my friend showed up--she asked the deli staff downstairs to clean it, which they did without incident. When I arrived later and waited for my friend I noticed spiders in nearly every ceiling corner of the two rooms, over 20 in the two rooms. I removed three alone from the bedroom area, and found out later my friend had killed three more herself. The place is infested. In addition, the bed was on a metal frame without a box-spring--to say our night's stay was uncomfortable is an understatement. Be warned.
