The San Bernardino County Sheriff s Department has two main divisions. The court security services division for San Bernardino County s nearly 90 superior courts includes three regional commands covering more than 10 court facilities. This court security contract for the state of California is one of the largest agreements the sheriff s department administers. Day-to-day responsibilities for court security operations include the movement of approximately 100,000 inmates annually and the protection of nearly a quarter of a million visiting members of the public to the court complexes. The court services civil division performs clerical, technical and civil enforcement functions. This includes mandated civil processes, such as warrant of arrest, levies for garnishments or attach earnings, personal property, real property, evictions and sheriff s sales. The department also operates nearly five detention centers. The San Bernardino County Sheriff s Department has an office in Barstow, Calif.
