Pastor Ed Gordon’s sermon at Trinity Baptist Church this week centered on Christians losing their balance, losing their grip on the values of God and finds the scripture to back up God’s plan to restore balance and grip and how to use and understand these qualities, their power of authority given to us by Jesus. There are no frivolous interpretations coming from Ed Gordon’s sermons but solid scripture to reinforce us Christians have the power given to us by Jesus, by his grace, by his very word, His very name, in making Satan shirk away from us. This is the word of the Lord that we have power over evil, to make a difference in the world and in our lives when we face dilemmas that cause us to flounder and lose faith. I need a sermon to reinforce there is more than hope, that there is a way to defeat evil and God gives us the Sword of his Word to do it.
