Provided by YP.comI have been through 5 groomers since moving here and I absolutely love Deb (groomer) and Wendy (owner) and the rest of the girls at Safe Harbor. Deb did an excellent job on Oakley...finally I found someone who could groom a Goldenddoodle the correct way, and she actually listened to me. Thanks so much to all of you. Wendy you have been a peach, loving on Oakley when we would board her and I could tell she was always happy to be there. You guys rock!!!!

Provided by YP.comI am so happy with the new groomer at Safe Harbor. Deb is awesome with grooming and my cocker goes in like a woolie bullie and comes out like a fluff princess. In the past the groomer there made my cocker look like a skunk with a very short strip down her back. The groomer came out saying-well, the next time i'll take $5.00 off your bill. Why not this time, I wondered. Any way, DEB YOU ARE THE BEST IN THE WEST!!! LOL
WENDY AND YVONNE ARE ALSO VERY PLEASANT AND SUPER FRIENDLY. I will never switch!! ROCK ON!!!!!!!!

Provided by YP.comI can't say enough good things about Wendy and Yvonne and everyone who works there. I travel a lot for work and LOVE that I can take my dog somewhere I know will treat her well, and somewhere she really likes. My dog has big-time separation anxiety, so it's very hard to leave her, but this is the one place I know she's going to be good. They spoil her, let her out, really go the extra mile in every possible way. I brag about them all the time, and would recommend them for boarding or adoption or grooming or anything else.

Provided by YP.comI took my dog up there for spring break. I was shown these kennels where they would keep my dog. When I went back to pick it up I found out they had over booked which I understand they do often and my dog with others was keep in a DOG CRATE. I will NEVER bring my dog back to there again!

Provided by YP.comThe new groomer at Safe Harbor is AMAZING!!!! My dogs are just like kids to our family. My poor little ones where scared stiff of the previous groomer!! I hated to take them. Deb comes out to my house since one of my dogs can no longer get shots due to a rare illness. My babies are always matted from playing with one another and they use to "have" to be shaved to the skin which I hated and asked time and time again to keep their hair. Deb spends as much time as it takes to brush out my babies hair. When she leaves I can't believe how great they look!! Show quality!! I have never been happier!!! I have tried 4 different groomers prior to Deb and I am happy to say I will never look again for another groomer!! Deb does a fantastic job, her prices are lower than any I have ever paid and she is great to work with. With Deb when you ask for something that is what you will get!

Provided by YP.comRecently our groomer moved out of state and we had to find someone new. We are picky about our canine family member - not only his haircut but also who takes care of him. We were referred to Safe Harbor, but were reluctant until we heard they had a new groomer. Man! what a great grooming job we received! I didn't think it possible, but our little guy looks even better than ever, and, he is so happy there. And, we love it that we can schedule his grooming time and he is ready on time. I highly recommend Safe Harbor if you are looking for show-quality grooming and great service and care - all at a super price.

Provided by YP.comSafe Harbor Boarding and their grooming partner are absolutely fabulous! My dogs have been clients of Safe Harbor for several years and we couldn't be more satisfied. In fact, Safe Harbor recently partnered with a new groomer and my dogs look, and smell, better than ever. Never before have they looked so adoreable with their show-quality bichon "hair-do" - fluffy legs, feet and tail and their pretty head topped with a butterfly bow! They even know they look fabulous - the way the prance out of there when I pick them up. On the boarding services, my dogs are so happy there - feels more like dropping your kids off at the day care vs. at the boarder. You will find it impossible to find a group of people who loves your pet as much as you do - but Safe Harbor does!

Provided by YP.comI recently had my dog groomed at Safe Harbor, and I was simply in awe how handsome my dog was when I picked him up. I have been using their grooming services for the last couple of years, but this time my dog looked better. I asked one of the employees why did my dog look different and all they told me was they had a new groomer. I have already prescheduled the my dog's grooming dates for the rest of the year. I have also used their boarding services and never ever had a problem with Safe Harbor. The employees are professional and very courteous. The lobbby has a very homey feel and I have never smelled anything icky or stinky.

Provided by YP.comI am beyond disappointed. I scheduled a grooming appointment here thinking it was going to be Amber grooming. It wasn't until I showed up that they told me Amber had left, and then started telling all sorts of horrible things about her. I felt very uncomfortable, but left my dog anyway for the groom. When I picked my dog up, she didn't smell as fresh, her head was uneven, her body length wasn't what I had asked for and I wasn't too pleased. When I got her home, I noticed a cut on her leg that wasn't there before and had been bleeding (nobody told me they cut my dog). I ended up finding our previous groomer who now has her own place. Her prices and services have all stayed the same. Shame on this place for blatantly lying about a girl who just took an amazing opportunity and went with it.

Provided by YP.comThis place definately takes care of your pet. My yellow lab stayed for a week last summer and it was great. We boarded her previously at a Doggy Spa and paid a lot of money only to have our dog come home very stressed out and slept for 12 hours straight - dead to the world and very mad at us. This time while she still wasn't happy that we left her, she wasn't stressed or totally exhausted - and the price was about 1/4 what we paid before. Yes, there is a "dog" smell when you go in, but hey, they do board dogs!! The care that she received out weighs any smell she might or might not have had when we picked her up. We highly recommend this facility.

Provided by YP.comAfter reading the posted reviews, I was somewhat apprehensive about boarding our 16.5 year old Boxer mix at this facility. But, I have never boarded her anywhere that took the time and care for an older dog as did the people at SH. After we explained her age and her problems, including walking across the tile floor, they went beyond what was expected and carried her in and out of the walking area. I know of no other facility that would do this and we have the greatest of respect and applause for the owner and workers at SH. Thank you for a great job and we will definitely use SH if and when we are in the area again.

Provided by YP.comMy dog's first stay had a stressful day or two - general adjusting and learning her quirks.... she has always come home happy, healthy and spoiled! They take great care of her.

Provided by YP.comI wish people would start being honest.
My family has never had anything bad to say about Safe Harbor Boarding. The owner will go out of her way to help as much as she can and is one of the most honest people I know. Unlike other places our dogs get treat bags to go home with and always seem so happy. They have always made me and my dogs extremely comforable and not just an exchange of business. My dogs get to go out more then 4 times a day and always have beds with clean blankets that never have holes so they cannot get caught in.
I have boarded at other boarding places that require my dogs to be bathed before I can come get them... What are those other places trying to hide?
Safe Harbor does not require their board dogs to have bathes before they go home and my dogs have NEVER come home smelling bad.

Provided by YP.comMy neighbor has a little dog that runs loose all the time. If I go to get the mail, this dog charges at me and has tried biting more than a few times. He chases my dog onto our proch daily. He has chased off my kids' friends. I can not stand this dog (I'm just telling it how it is). I would not board that dog at this place. I went in early one morning to pick up my dog. The lobby absolutely reaked of urine. The candles they had lit hadn't been able to cover the horrendous scent. Then my dog smelled like urine and feces. Maybe if I would have waited to pick up in the afternoon they could have hidden the scent with perfume. I had already read these reviews and thought the good ones sounded great and I am all about saving a few bucks. This place is cheap, and you get what you pay for. It's CHEAP services. I will never be back and I have no problem spending double for a nicer and cleaner enviroment

Provided by YP.comI have not used the boarding business for my own reasons that I don't care to discuss, which is why I gave 3 stars. I wanted to only say that I hope if you are reading these poor reviews, you don't include the grooming in these reviews. I have had nothing but wonderful experiences with the groomer. All the ladies here are extremely friendly.

Provided by YP.comYOU MUST BE TALKING ABOUT ANOTHER FACILITY!!! THIS IS THE BEST PLACE I HAVE EVER HAD THE PLEASURE OF TAKING MY DOGS TOO!!! They go above and beyond for all the animals they care for!!! If you have a problem with one person there, you shouldn't hold it against the entire facility!!! People come and go, but the owner is the one you need to talk too if you have an issue to discuss.

Provided by YP.comI read the previous reviews and am appauld. I Have used the boarding and grooming services and couldn't be happier. The ladies there LOVE their job and their clients. My dogs are always greeted by their names and they love coming. They get a large space to stay with a cot and blankets, and pillows. They get let outside several times each day, and taken for a walk when the weather cooperates. They LOVE their toys they are given each day as well (the green stuffed toothbrush is a huge favorite). My dogs and I are always treated courteously and with respect. At only $14/night, I don't see how they can be in this business for the money. I have my dogs groomed and bathed while they visit and always smell fabulous. One time the groomer was unavailable, and the dogs did not come out smelling bad or like a "kennel". I think it's a warm welcoming enviroment, it never stinks like a dog facility, and the noise seems relatively low considering it is a dog boarding facility. I would HIGLY reccomend this place and if you have doubts, you should go up and tour the facility yourself.

Provided by YP.comMy dog came back with a HUGE hot spot on her from where she nervously licked herself raw. She has NEVER shown any kind of nervous behaviors before. It was no wonder either, the whole place was extremely loud with barking, growling, and howling dogs. They are all placed next to each other, so your dog is placed next to a dog that wants to fight. I then found out, one of the girls that works there killed her dog a few weeks ago by locking it in a baking car (in the Safe Harbor parking lot). I don't want my dog being cared for by someone like that! Especially now after my dog came back to me in such condition; an open wound oozing and bleeding. I wish someone would have warned me about this place before I went. I will be warning everyone I know about this place!

Provided by YP.comWe have used the boarding and grooming services here before with no complaints. Infact, we loved the groomer and thought very highly of the owner to the boarding facilities. Not anymore. We boarded our little girl over a holiday weekend. Safe Harbor Boarding's owner told me they were full to capacity. She even joked about how they were overflowing. Our dog came back home to us sick, acting strange, and now urinates in our house. It's sad that they're now too busy cramming a ton of dogs in this facility for the money rather than providing the quality of care that they used to.

Provided by YP.comWe board our dog 2-3 times per year and have never had any kind of problems. We found out this place was open and close to our home (and cheap), so we tried it. NEVER again! Our dog came back sick, lethargic, un happy, tail tucked between the legs, hiding in the house, and stunk like urine. Anywhere is better than this place. I now know why it's so cheap. Poor service.
