Provided by YP.comTook my 2005 Artic Cat 650 V-Twin in to Bastrop Powersports for carburator repairs & to be jetted for a trip to Colorado. It ran fine but leaked fuel when I dropped it off... They said about 3 days it would be ready. I called after a week & was told the parts werent in. The next day they called & said I needed 2 new carburators @ $750.00 because my slides were wore out & the slides wouldnt open properly due to a vaccum problem that it didnt have when I dropped it off. They finally got it running with the carbs that were on it. They replaced 1 float needle ($ 26.26 ), installed the new jets ($ 9.90 ), & an air filter ( $ 28.95 ), Labor ($ 190.00) I picked it up after 10 days in the shop & a cost of $ 288.35, It ran OK.& didnt leak fuel but it didnt have the power it should have had but they said that was due to the high altitude jets. In Colorado on the first run it wouldnt get over 15 mph down hill. After talking to local shops that didnt have time to fix it, I took it apart & found that Bastrop P/S did not get the diaphrams sealed properly causing the slides not to open. After properly sealing the diaphrams myself It ran Great. Back at home I called Bastrop P/S on tuesday to discuss the issue with them, I was told the mgr. would be in the next day & left my #. They never called..... I called back friday & the person I talked to listened to my problem & the told me that " IT RAN WHEN YOU PICKED IT UP & FELT THE COSTS WERE JUSTIFIED " in a slightly rude tone.
I don't mind paying for a job done correctly, but these people are a rip off.
Beware!!!!! Would not recommend at all.....
