Friendly, efficient, first-rate service is what you can expect from John Cline and his crew. You will be treated courteously and pampered - from safety instruction to comfortable transport to/from the river - they handle it all. It's a carefree, fun way to enjoy the river. Try it - you'll like it!

Provided by YP.comWhat a way to spend the day ... pack a picnic and float on down the river as it winds it's way through Bastrop, TX. View turtles sunbathing, Osprey hunting, cattle grazing ... we have even seen an owl, deer, blue heron and snowy white egrets. Whenever we have out of town guests now we take them on this journey ... and now they are coming to visit again and the first request is to do the kayak trip again. Our son and granddaughter (7 years old) came to visit and she LOVED it too. We stopped at one of the islands to eat our lunch and play in the water for a bit. Rising Phoenix has beautiful clean equipment. They transport you to the river, put you in, and then you give them a call when you come to the train trestle ... and they are there to take you out. It is just a wonderful way to enjoy your day.

Provided by YP.comThe portion of the Colorado River that runs through Bastrop County is beautiful and non challenging making it a very easy and great for families with children. The river winds under an old train bridge, through a beautiful canopy of trees and finally ends at a wonderful little nature park. John and Denise, owners of Rising Phoenix, are wonderful conservationists and stewards of our river. The Rising Phoenix staff are friendly and helpful, making the experience easy and enjoyable.

Provided by YP.comWe traveled to Bastrop from Houston three times this summer to kayak with these folks and camped at Bastrop State Park. Top notch operation. Really nice boats and great little retail store. They provide you with everything, you just show up. They shuttle both to and from the river. They also have bike sales, repairs and rentals and we rented bikes and rode out at the park which was really fun. Call ahead to reserve kayaks cause word is spreading and one time when we didn't call ahead we had to wait a bit. If you want to camp at the park call way ahead because they are always pretty booked up. One time we stayed at Pecan Street B&B and it was great. Rising Phoenix has alot of great links to local establishments on their website.

Provided by YP.comThis float was well worth traveling to Bastrop TX for a day trip. We did the 6-mile El Camino trail from old historic downtown Bastrop. It's a nice easy trip that took a couple hours back in September. We took 2 small children and they had a ball. Lots of wildlife and NO crowds, in fact we only saw one other group the entire trip. We loved the great restaurant Roadhouse, which is just a hop and skip from Rising Phoenix and Bastrop State Park. We will definitely be back and are planning to bring several adult couples. RPA's boats are really nice and clean too and customer service was fast and friendly.
