The Genesee County Mental Health Association, also known as GCMHA, is a nonprofit, tax exempt organization that offers a range of care and rehabilitative services to individuals with developmental disabilities. It works for the promotion of mental health and prevention of mental illnesses. The organization administers a trauma services program that includes education, advocacy, empowerment and drop-in services for trauma survivors. The Genesee County Mental Health Association conducts workshops, conferences and training, as well as offers Crisis intervention services through its Mental Illness/Chemical Addiction (MICA) program. The organization is affiliated with the Mental Health Association of New York State and the National Mental Health Association. Additionally, it operates a help line that provides support, encouragement and referrals through trained volunteers. The Genesee County Mental Health Association is located in Batavia, N.Y.
