Provided by YP.comI have called this facility twice in the last six months. Both times I spoke to someone who was unhelpful, and unfamiliar with the Batesville area. The first time was to report a cat that was hanging around my mom's house. My mother has a cat that appeared at her house and she feeds, so she has nothing against stray cats. But this cat was winding around her legs and tripping her. Since she already walks with a walker, this was not good. We asked them to come get the cat. They said they couldn't because they didn't have room but would come and get it when they had room. When I tried to tell them where she lived, "Oh, I'm not from around here." I told them never mind. I would have my brother do something with the cat. And magically someone (not my brother) came and got the cat.
Today I called because of a dog I saw being dumped yesterday. I tried to catch the dog last night when I got off work, but was unable to do so. Someone I work with tried to catch the dog today. It is running in and out of traffic, chasing white trucks (the color of the one that dumped it). It is going to get smushed. When I called the humane society I said I would take the dog home with me, if they would just help me catch it. I wasn't asking them to accept another stray dog, (which they actually won't do unless you threaten to kill it.). The guy who answered said they don't catch dogs, was it in the city, and he didn't know where the area was, blah, blah. I already have one dog that was dumped at my work place. Just because I don't come volunteer at your shelter and pay $100 to adopt your pets doesn't mean I don't care about the animals and them being left to die on the road.
