Independence Park Theatre and Cultural Center, founded in 2001, is a recreational center offering theater classes, camps, and performances. The center has been host to hundreds of events, including concerts, plays, musicals, dance recitals, lectures, graduations, seminars, workshops, conferences and pageants. Its proscenium theatre has a seating capacity of up to 800 with state-of-the-art sound and lighting equipment. It also has two smaller conference rooms that can accommodate groups of up to 100 people, as well as a space to hold banquets for up to 200 people. The theatre is available for rent by public and private schools, community organizations, corporations and individuals with discounted rates for nonprofit organizations. The Louisiana Art and Artists' Guild Gallery, located at IPT, hosts a number of art exhibits throughout the year. The center's film series showcases plays that have been adapted to the medium of cinema. It is located in Baton Rouge, La.
