As a part of the Louisiana Department of Environmental Quality, the Laboratory Services Division operates one of the largest state-owned environmental laboratories in Louisiana. Its laboratory conducts and oversees chemical analyses and analytical testing activities for the department of environmental quality and is accredited by the National Environmental Laboratory Accreditation Conference Institute. The division publishes monthly e-newsletter to provide information on the division, accreditation, and analytical requirements for laboratory community and other interested parties. It also offers a laboratory accreditation program to ensure the accuracy, precision, and reliability of the data generated, as well as the use of the department-approved methodologies in the generation of that data.
