Provided by YPmobileService engine light was on so i took it in after Onstar said it was a cooling issue. They replaced the thermostat and several days later it was back on. Again they said it was thermostat. Again several days later back on. Then they claimed it was the fan clutch and replaced after trying to charge $497 for the part that was $199 at autozone. Within two hours of leaving the shop the light was back on.
I decided to check the air filter and it was clogged solid (even though I go there to have an oil change and they apparently never checked/changed it). Once I changed this the light went out immediately.
Called to complain and they said if it stayed off for a week they'd refund my money. Three weeks later called to ask where my refund was and they were only refunding the money for the fan clutch. Asked for the thermostat to be refunded and they denied. Asked to talk to the owner and there response was "he doesn't want to talk to you and now we won't give you any money back".
Called Gmc corporate office and they are looking into it.
Incompetent service, non existent customer relations skills. Will never buy a vehicle there and regret the previously spent ~$4,800 on service over the years!

Provided by YP.comTo replace a single bad ignition coil on my maxima (with parts and labor) demaagd quoted me a fee of OVER SEVEN HUNDRED DOLLARS! I found it odd that demaagd wanted to replace all six ignition coils even though only one was bad. I had no idea what an "ignition coil" was until i looked it up online.
I learned 2 things:
(A) I did not need to replace all six coils as demaagd would have liked
and
(B) the procedure of replacing a coil was easier than replacing a simple spark plug
In the end I chose not to rely on demaagd and paid (with parts and labor) $100 Total!
Not knowing all the circumstances, I would respectfully reply there are more factors than what is failing right now. What other information does the technician have access to that the consumer does not. Of course, paying for just parts, aftermarket probably, and no labor it would definitely be less expensive. With service Customer Satisfaction Index over 98% I would have to believe there is more to tis story.
