Established in 1994, the Calhoun County Correctional Center is a direct supervision facility that houses more than 600 inmates. It provides lodging solutions for presentenced and sentenced inmates. The center also offers prisoner transport and court security services. The Calhoun County Correctional Center additionally provides 24-hour medical care, food, religious support, laundry, counseling and educational services. It maintains a staff of over 100 employees. The center offers inmate visitation services. The Calhoun County Correctional Center is a part of the Corrections Division of the Office of the Sheriff, which is governed by the Calhoun County government in Michigan. The county government operates finance, health, planning, purchasing and human resources departments.
