THis company is horrible, they miss weeks. Then the wife takes the payments and deposits them without showing it paid on your account and it takes several months to get it cleared up. I still have two on my bill that have not been posted even though I sent proof of my check clearing my bank. The girl I talked to said the wife comes in and just takes the checks before she can post them to the customer accounts!!!! What kind of shifty company is this!!!!

I have not had my can emptied for the second time this month. This had been happening this summer/fall that one week was skipped. I am reporting this to the better business bureau and If the check I sent at the end of October has not been negotiated, I'm stopping payment.
Sorry, I have been more than patient for too long!

To all that may read this review: Sherrod waste Service and Sunny Bay are connected, but don't communicate very well.Case in point, a company representative called my wife in November 2007, to inform her she was behind on her bill. But my wife explaind her bill paying service was paying her bills and the representative confirmed payments were up to date. Then in february 2008, the street was missed from pick-up for two weeks. After a call, we were told driver turnover was the cause and our trash was picked up. Then in march 2008,our street was missed again. After a call, our trash was picked up. Then the following week a reresentative called and told my wife she was behind on her bill, but my wife told her about the call she got in November 2007. The reresentative said she would need proof and my wife said she would send it. Also, the representative said the container was scheduled to be picked up on Friday, but she would postpone it to give my wife time to send the statements. However, our container and two of my neighbors' containers were picked up. My neighbor talked to the driver and he said there is a new policy that states if a customer is one month behind on payment, the container will be picked up. However, I nor my neighbors recieved the new policy change. In addition, my wife has not recieved a bill since November 2007, and she paid it.As a result, if Sherrod/Sunny Bay does not address the poor service and lack of customer service, myself and all my neighbores will be switching to a new disposal service. I have already talked to them and they agree. In order to try to regain our business,return our trash containers, address your driver pick up problems, learn to communicate with your customers instead of hastily picking up the container.After all, you work for us, so work with us. Thanks for reading my review.

Had for less than 6 months. Had to call 12 times due to not picking up. Called 3 weeks ago to cancel. Called again for the 4th time to ask when I would receive a refund and when they were picking up the bin. They replied "check in the Mail" and bin already picked up. Of which it is not.

We have had Sherrods Refuse Svc for 10 years now. I would not hesitate to recommend them. We had been behind in our bills in the past and they were easy to accommodate that with time to get caught up and they never missed picking up, refused to pick up over payment issues or anything. They are always so courteous to our family. The drivers we have had, and in 10 years there has only been 2, so we have never had an issue with turnover are out of their way helpful and friendly for us. They are so well priced and go the extra mile picking up extra items with our container as well. I won't switch nor will the people on our road who all feel equally confident that they are worth every penny of the bargain price.

DO NOT USE...We had several incidents over the years where our trash was not picked up. Before dropping their service this time our trash was missed three weeks in a row. I had called and informed them that my trash had overloaded the bin and was now sitting on the ground by the road. She asked if they could just pick it up at the beginning of the next week. I informed her she needed to have someone there in the next two days as the trash was begining to become a problem. She said she would find a driver to get out to me. OH....my bill was paid in full at this time. Nobody showed up to get my trash, or call me and tell me they weren't able to get there. We had to run down the road, and catch the truck on the following Monday. The driver shook his head and said "nobody at this company comunicates with us." Later that afternoon I called and quit my serivce. The person taking the call did not ask for any explanation or seem to care at all. It has been almost three weeks and the container is still at my house. I have called twice to get them to come to the house, and I get some of the same exusese that I have read on the other reviews on this site. When I asked why someone hasn't called me back the woman responded, "Well, maybe your messages were erased from the answering machine." I couldn't believe it. She also used the excuse of their truck being down as the reason the container hasn't been picked up. I refuse to use them again and would recommend others do not either. I had to give them the one star on the rating as it would not take a 0.

Don't bother. They drive right past THEIR own containers, then when you call and tell them that they missed your garbage they ask if you have your own container or one of theirs...always the same answer...one of theirs, well then after hearing that, they then blame it on the truck having mechanical issues or something to that effect....what, did the brakes fail just in front of my house? Because I saw the truck drive right by and pick my neighbor's trash up...and my bill is current. This happens 1-2 times a month for almost a year now.



Bottom line--Sherrod "Service" lacks in the service department and is not worth the savings over other more reliable companies in the area.



P.S. I tried to complete this review with ZERO stars...but it made me give them one anyways.

We have used Sherrod's service for a number of years. Off and on through out the years we have a times where they don't pick up our garbage. We call and leave a message to that effect on an answering machine but we never receive a call back and they don't pick up the trash. We put up with this for years because they would drive up our driveway (approx. 275 feet from the road) to pick up the trash. Then about 2 months ago a note was placed on our container that said we had to bring the container down to the end of the driveway. We will be switching service providers but haven't had the time to do so yet. Their poor service definitely is not worth the money.
