It is all about Profit, Human ...

It is all about Profit, Human are secondary in this corporate world of America.

We need to drop United States and add Corporate States of America.

When you call your bank or your utilities carrier and they tell you that your file in on the investor's desk than we should know dooms day is not too far.

Even In The South...

We are tasked with looking in on our neighbors, especially the elderly ones, when our temps go down into the twenties and sometimes even the teens. How in God's name can an electric company just turn off the power of someone, in the winter, without regard for the resident. Did anyone call to inquire? Did anyone go to the house to check to see if the resident was even alive? Did anyone at this ridiculous company think, for a moment, that perhaps the persons(s) living in this house might need help? Despite the money left to the hospital, and the amount of the outstanding debt owed to the electric company, in the winter, you don't just turn off the power in a home without FIRST checking it out. What a bunch of creeps here. Shame on all of you who work for this company. Anyone could have gone by this home, at any time, to see what was what. There is no punishment suitable, other than as good as this poor man got.

what???!!!

Nobody in this supposedly greatest nation on earth should EVER freeze to death in their own home. Violent criminals in jail stay warm in the winter and a 93 year old veteran dies alone because of $1000????? This company makes me sick and is a perfect example of the callous , cold-hearted, unsympathetic detachment that many companies have towards their customers. Never mind the decades that this man probably paid his bill on time, that amounts to nothing. They will probably issue some lame textbook apology about the incident but lets see how long before the next one. I guess a 93 year old man should have known to go outside in the freezing weather to flip the switch though, right? Way to go Bay City Electric.

I don't know how they sleep at night

I was absolutely saddened by the story of the 93 year old man I heard about on the news. How can the electric company just shut off your power in the dead of winter? A man lost his life over $1000. It breaks my heart to think he died alone, and cold, and was basically tortured to death by The Bay City Electic Company. Someone should be held responsible for this.

What is with you guys!

I was sad and sickened to think you would shut off power to a 93 year old man's home and not even knock on the door to see if this elderly gentleman was OK! So can you really live with yourselves and not feel any responsibility or shame for your actions which led to this man's death - Shame on you! I hope it happens to you - you deserve it!! He didn't.

Way to disgrace yourself...

93 years old? A WWII veteran? Nice way to end his life. Maybe next you can find an orphanage your company serves and cut off their power. I guess Mother Teresa was fortunate to not have lived in your area. Since she took a vow of poverty she would not have been able to pay her electric bill and I am sure you would have let her freeze to death as well.
