Founded in 1859, the Wit's End Guest Ranch and Resort has been restored to luxury class without destroying its history. Located off the north shore of magnificent Vallecito Lake in Bayfield, Colo., Wit's End is surrounded by massive 12,000 and 14,000-foot granite peaks and the two million acre San Juan National Forest. The area was home to the first pioneers of the westward movement including the infamous Dalton Gang. Wit s End sits on 550 acres of private land and boasts 35 luxury-class, one to four bedroom log cabins and a 7500 square foot trout house. The ranch offers dining and western cookouts in and around its authentic 127 year-old mold Lodge at the Lake, which features walls mirrored with cut glass from the 1853 Crystal Palace in London.
