Established in 1955, James Bowie Elementary School is administered by the Goose Creek Consolidated Independent School District, which operates approximately 25 educational centers. The school organizes various special programs, such as Title 1 services that include reading recovery, special education, speech therapy and bilingual education. In addition, it offers parent education and counseling services, tutorials and after-school education programs offered by the Young Men s Christian Association. The school offers a variety of sports activities, including football, volleyball, basketball and soccer. It also organizes several classes in art, music and physical education. James Bowie Elementary School provides educational services to students from kindergarten through grade five.
