I took in a ball gown to have altered on 09/25/2015. I was asked to pre-pay and was given a receipt with a pick up time of 10/09/15. I went in on 10/12/15 to pick up my gown to be told it was not ready, nor even started. (3 days past promise date) I was advised that the ownerâÂÂs father had passed on 10/10/15 and she asked me to come back on 10/19/15. (For the record: I completely understood the current situation and was not upset.) I called 10/19/15 to check if it was ready and was asked to call back the following day, as she still had not started/completed my dress. I called 10/20/15 and was told it was still not ready, but the owner said she would have it ready the following day by noon. I arrived 10/21/15 and she **STILL** had not started working on my dress. I asked for my dress back and a refund and she said she would start right away and would call me later that day and would even deliver it to me at my home. She made the comment, âÂÂIf you take your dress anywhere else, it wonâÂÂt be accepted this late into ball season.â (I agreed, but was still very upset!) I never heard from her on 10/21/15. I started calling the shop at 9am (her posted opening time for business) on 10/22/15 and could not get a hold of the owner to check status of my dress. I finally got a call back from her at 11am and she said she would have it ready in 30 minutes. (11:30am) I went to the shop at NOON and she was still working on it. I told her I would wait in the shop. She seemed very irritated (both with her body language and facial expressions) and did not say one word to me while she worked on the dress. I waited for a full hour and had to try the dress on over 5 times to get what I had asked her to do for me when I dropped it off almost a full month earlier. (Hem, let out zipper slightly and bring up the leg slit.) While I completely understand that there were some situations beyond her control around the time my dress was originally âÂÂpromisedâ for pick up (10/09/15) I cannot excuse her lack of professionalism with giving me the complete run-around multiple times after assuring me sheâÂÂd have my dress ready (or even started!). I will not provide her with my business ever again.

Yes it's your money and your choiceI would not go to Alterations By Izella in Beaufort SC. I wouldn't go If it were the last Alterations place in the country. On 14 Jan I took a leather jacket to have a zipper replaced, I paid in advance and was told Jacket would be ready on 21 Jan. well I did not go in to pick up jacket until Jan 22 , To my surprise the jacket was not ready.when I told the owner of the store of my displeasure she had a " I don't give a Sh** " look on her face and was 100% unapologetic . so again in my humble opinion it's your money and chioce but if i were you I'd go elsewhere for any alterations
