I brought a pair of Timberland leather work boots to be resoled. They were not ready on the promised date, and Mr. Mobley apologized profusely (he is a super-nice gentleman) but it was no big deal, I wasn't in any hurry. The soles seem to be securely fixed but the upper part of the sole was taken to a belt sander, apparently to try to make it fit the shape of the tread that was being replaced rather than simply shaping the tread. The shoes were treated with some kind of polish or edge dressing that promptly came off on the cuffs of any pants I wore. Luckily it washed out.

In short, I wouldn't mind taking work boots there but I wouldn't take an expensive pair of dress shoes to them. The work was sturdy but very crudely done, with gaps between the tread being replaced and the upper sole. The seam holding the sole to the upper (Goodyear welt construction) had also been sanded, fraying the thread. As Mobley's has been in business a long time and it cost $65, I expected a more professional looking job.

Might do good shoe repair?...Brought in a satchel bag to have patches sewn on...at $5 per patch, I spent $70...Glue left smeared around a couple patches and half of the patches are crooked and or not placed centered or matching distances apart...all were pinned in place straight and centered when it was given to them...Not a good job at all...really didn't look at it at the store as I assumed it would be done correctly the first time. Highly disappointed!
