My husband and I started going to Guidling Light Counseling Center on our doctors advise. My husband has had a stroke and has lost his ability to speak. We having been working very hard to be a to communicate again. We have been to several different speech therapists but at this time we still can't speak.It is very depressing and somedays it feels like all is lost. But the day we went to Guilding Light we felt like someone cared about us and was willing to help.And help they have everyone at the center makes us feel special and are willing to help. My husband can't wait till his next meeting at the center. We feel like God has sent us to this wonderful place and are so blessed to know Doug Franklin

As I enter the Guiding Light Counseling Center, I have a heavy heart and thoughts crowd my mind. But when the door closes behind me, a feeling of comfort and peace begins to "wrap" it's arms around me. I am treated with kindness, dignity and respect. When I am within the confines of the Center, I feel as if I am the only and most important client. Each of my worries and concerns are dealt with in a timely manner and I feel that none of them are trivial or unimportant. If they are important to me, they are important to those who make up the Center staff. When I leave, I take with me thoughts and ideas on how to deal and cope. I take with me "a piece of the peace!" I truly agree with the suggestion that those who work at this Center do not just "work"... they allow God to use them to spread a "guiding light" into the darkness of my life.





I wrote my original review of the Guiding Light Counseling Services 13 months ago. I still attend sessions. Not only do I believe that they are "Still the Best," I feel that they are even better! Every time I walk through the door I feel the love and compassion embrace me. I feel that I can truly be myself and speak my heart. At the Center, I am learning to feel safe, to set boundaries and to take care of me! Even if I had one hundred million gold stars that I could give them, it would only be a tiny fraction of what I believe they deserve.
