A Passion Turns Into A Business The story of Bassitt Auto Co. is the story of how one man turned a lifelong hobby into a thriving car repair shop and auto service company in Beaverton. In 1971, Craig Bassitt started working on friends' cars in his Lake Grove garage, part time. His friends told other friends and soon, due to neighbor's complaints about cars all over the street, Craig decided to move to the Helvetia area. Demand continued to grow so he built a pole building on that property around 1978. Customers were willing to drive for miles to have Craig work on their cars. Demand kept growing, so Craig devoted himself to servicing autos full time.

I needed an overdue front brake rotor and pad replacement. Bassitt did an excellent job at an agreed-on price and had the car ready in four hours. Their waiting area is a nicely done version of a 50's drive-in, with a nice selection of 1950s and '60 magazines for the proper atmosphere. I would use them for my next car service.

Very Friendly, Great Service

From the time you walk in to the time they hand you your keys back, Bassitt has exceptional service. Craig, Jammie, Kevin, Mike; all the guys there are very nice and very helpful. They even have free beverages while you wait, or for your drive home on a hot day. The technicians will answer any questions you have, and let you know about any upcoming services your car will need. Every August they have a car show with lots of beautiful old and new automobiles, I recommend everyone stop by!
