Giving Chances

I applied for an job as an EMT-B with Jancare and was contacted for an interview, I went to the interview then was contacted on a Wedneday advising me I had made it that i needed to be in Beckley the next morning by 9 am and to bring something to sleep in that I would be there until Friday evening. So I arrived there Thursday morning by 9 am and was there until Friday evening. Well we had to meet the chief (Shane Wheeler) on Friday and have another interview with him, he was not very friendly at all and he intimidated everyone and he said somethings to some of us that was just rude bue he still accepted us into the program.(Noone never told us that once we got the Beckley there was another interview and you could of been cut then). Well some of us returned back on Sunday evening so we didn't have ot get up early Monday morning and drive. Well when we arrived at the house we were not made ot feel welcome, the house was also dirty (boogers on the walls, kitchen and bathroom floors were filthy, bathroom was really dirty, food left in rooms and it had cause alot of fruit flies, dirty laundry piled up on the floor in the bathroom). When we went to class the next day we told the instructor but nothing was done. So when we arrived back there were a set of rules written up on the board for us newbies( were not ya parents clean up behind ya self, this is our house, this is our bathroom we share it with u, things like that) and we never messed up anything. So at this point we were all uncomfortable and could not keep focus due to this. Well the word got back to manaagement and someone pulled us to side and had us fill out complaints on this issue and that didnt make it any better cause now they ones that was there are not even speakin to us now, they spoke to us before but just acted funny. I liked the instructor and al lbut we all had a problem with his teaching ( he told u up front he was not an teacher ) We were given 3 chapters a day to read and 3 tests a day and all I can say is people busted their asses off studing for these tests and they still struggled a bit, and Mr. Wheeler came in on Wednedsay evening and stood in the front of the class and stated if ya averages is not at 80 % by Friday that u were going home. So on Friday he embarrassed the ones that he let go he called them out in the middle of the class and told them they didnt have an 80% and they had to leave and he encorages them to reapply. Some of these people gave up their jobs that they already before going to jancare, then to be let go just like that, that was not fair at all. Mr. Wheeler I don't know if u have been on the other side before, but you didnt give us an fair chance, and we drove back and forth to Beckley without being paid mileage and gas is so high (some drove 1,2 and 3 hours away). Our averages ranged from 69 to 78.4 and to pass the national test u have to have at least an 70%. You see Mr. Wheeler, I really have the ability to do this job and could of made an difference in someones life even if the outcome was good or bad but you didnt give me the chance. But thanks anyway cause I did learn alot that I did not know on my own
