Check the internet for all the other 1 star reviews and hopefully you will stay away from this place. I rented a car from Thrifty at the Bozeman airport recently for 2 days. I declined the extra insurance coverage which I have never taken for the 20 plus years of traveling for my work. The person printed the contract and said to initial in 3 places and sign at the bottom. I have never read a rental agreement before, who has the time to sit there are read everything, so you trust it is a standard agreement and they aren t trying to hose you. When I returned, I was charged more than I expected so I asked what the $49.98 charge for PDW was for and they said for the insurance coverage. I told them I declined insurance and the person taking care of me must have made a mistake so they confidently pulled a copy of my contract and shoved it in my face saying see here, you initialized that you wanted the coverage. I told the person I declined the coverage and was just told to initial in several places without being told what it was even for, which is standard at all rental companies. For Thrifty, the line simply says PDW - why not put INSURANCE COVERAGE so there is no mistake - I am convinced they must have done this before. So they said since I initialed they would not provide a refund. I tried my best to stay calm and explain it was their mistake but she got nasty so I asked to speak to the manager and she said she was the manager which was a little surprising for how she was dressed but the other town people there were in tee shirts and sporting multiple tattoos like she was so that gives you an indication of the how classy this place is. She told me she wasn t going to do anything for me and told me if I didn't leave she would call security. So I left. Guess what - I disputed the charges from the terminal so they won t be paid anyway but learn from me and the many other bad reviews to not use this company.
