In a day and age where the American healthcare system is failing, Memorial Hospital offered my family and I absolutely zero reassurance. Time and time again I have given this hospital and it's staff the benefit of doubt. Unfortunately, for myself and the locals who frequent this hospital we have been left with excruciating wait times and incompetent staff.

DO NOT SEEK TREATMENT AT MEMORIAL HOSPITAL.

so impressed!

I had my first surgery here. I was extremely nervous and clueless. The staff was AMAZING to me. Everyone was friendly and helpful. So much in fact that I decided to go to nursing school. I wanna be able to make someone feel safe and important like their staff made me feel. I had a great experience. I recommend totally.

While my treatment was fair at the hospital (I am an employee and the staff knew it) the process after paying the large bill has been nothing but a nightmare. After signing a contract to have biweekly payments made deducted from my payroll, the hospital reneged on that contract so they could "streamline the billing process". Since then, I have had to work with an outside company to finish paying off the bill. Aside from ridiculous wait times to set up payment and seemingly non-caring staff at the off site processing center (which is in Moline, IL...not even a local business) things were going fine until I had to get a new debit card due to fraudulent charges after the Schnuck's debacle. I promptly called the off site company to update my information, after spending 15 minutes on hold. I received a nice letter telling me when to expect the payments to come out of my account. I waited and I looked. It was a holiday weekend, so I figured it was taking a few extra days to process. I then received a notice to call because I didn't have a payment plan.

I was told the card had been declined too many times to now set up a payment plan. That is strange because the card works just fine everywhere else. I haven't had an issue since it was replaced. Could it be the numbers were transcribed incorrectly? Chick on the other end said she didn't know, couldn't read it to me because they deleted it, and said they verified it with reviewing the recording of the previous call. She couldn't find it in the notes anywhere that it was reviewed but her supervisor (who conveniently wasn't in) 'always' checks the recordings. If that were done, why wouldn't you make a note? They sure as hell made a note fast enough that I was no longer trustworthy to have a payment plan. So I asked to talk to a higher supervisor since hers was 'not in'...more wait to tell me I had to wait more. All the while filling my ear with endless passive-aggressive insinuations. After telling her that not only was I an employee but a customer as well, she became even snottier.

This was Memorial's decision to change the way they do business. While these people are not Memorial employees, they sure as hell represent Memorial. I haven't missed a single payment with these people. They take no responsibility for even the possibility of being incorrect. I couldn't even verify if the numbers were taken down correctly because they 'deleted them for my protection"...which is strange because if it doesn't work because it is incorrect then why does it need to be protected? Can't prove it was right or wrong. Which leaves me feeling treated like a criminal and had threat of taking a hit to my hard earned credit rating (which she verbally told me would happen) because a mistake was made after I have been diligent about making sure this was taken care of in the first place.

My newborn got a Staph infecti...

My newborn got a Staph infection from Memorial. In 2010 I had my daughter at Memorial hospital. While in labor they insisted on putting a fetal monitoring proble on her head while in the womb. I told them I wasn t comfortable (this was my ob doctor who I have since switched) and they did it anyways. A day later the spot where it in placed on her head bumped up with puss - the hospital had to send us to Children's Hospital in St.Louis where she spent the first 6 days of her life in icu being pumped around the clock full of antibiotics!! This hospital is Known in the area for being one of the worst by word of mouth and I should of listened to my gut before going there to deliver. Never again.

They wasted a ton of money to make it look all nice and updated but spent Nothing on giving quality services.

Slow and unprofessional

I was told my appointment was changed from 11am to 9am. I arrived at 8:45am and was not called in until almost 1pm. I checked with them several times to make sure they didn't forget about me. Two other patients arrived after me and were called back while I continued to wait. Terrible service. I will never go back and warn others of the same.

ER Patient Care

Not so Good. Some of the doctors and nurses don't listen to the patient's especially if they are young adults. It is my impression they feel everyone is out to get HIGH. That is the way she is treated anyway. Very sad.
