Established in 1960, Republic County Hospital is a 25-plus-bed critical access health care facility. It also has a 38-plus-bed attached long-term care unit that is a nonprofit facility owned by the citizens of Republic County and operated under lease by Great Plains of Republic County. Republic County Hospital and its laboratory are accredited by The Joint Commission. It has a staff of physicians that specializes dermatology, gastroenterology, gynecology, hematology, anesthesiology, cardiology and neurology. Republic County Hospital provides general medical and surgical care for inpatient, outpatient and emergency room patients. The hospital also participates in Medicare and Medicaid programs. It offers clinical laboratory, respiratory, and women and children s services. Republic County Hospital operates therapy, rehabilitation, wound care and emergency departments. In addition, the hospital has a gift shop that provides a variety of gifts, cards, balloons, plants, and fresh and artificial flowers. It maintains a location in Belleville, Kan.
