I am doing this because I believe that bad service and poor quality should be eliminated. If I had known about this place, I would never have even considered them for a furniture purchase. You can make up your own mind...



Short version... (the pictures actually tell a the best story)



In March, my husband and I bought a King size mattress and needed a new bed so we shopped around quite a bit and ended up with a bed we liked from Olympic Furniture. The bed was a fair price and the shipping was going to be 2 weeks which was important to us because we couldn't wait for months since our bed was arriving in 2 weeks.



March goes by..... April goes by.......Most of May goes by before the bed is delivered. We are tired of sleeping on the floor by now! I had to contact them over and over because that was the only way I would get another update (aka excuse) as to when it would be delivered. There were no unprompted updates from this company, which was also frustrating.



End of May...It's delivered with a horribly cracked piece (did anyone see that before they shipped it???) The kind of split in the head board that will crack all the way through in time.



More long waits.... more excuses.... the replacement part has been ordered....more waits.... more excuses. 6 months later we get the replacement part and guess what?? Its a foot board and not a head board AND it's badly dented and scratched . Olympic Furniture now says they are going to demand better shipping practices. Now there's an idea!



We had to re-order it and then we asked for compensation; 50% of what we paid. Here is their response:



"This is the same in all business. If you buy a car and the transmission goes out under warranty. They have an obligation to fix the transmission. They do not have the obligation to fix the transmission AND compensate you $9000. If you b...uy a lawn mower and the blade is twisted wrong and it is under warranty, they have on obligation to replace the blade. They do not have an obligation to replace the blade AND compensate you $1000. Etc.



Compensation can be used to help bring the situation whole, but not to enrich you. I do not feel that your demands for compensation are appropriate. I have, however, wanted to make things whole. We have done that and now hopefully all can be well and we can put this behind us."

We are disappointed, frustrated at the lack of quality, service and respect for their customers.



The second replacement party is laying in my driveway and I haven't opened it yet. It may be fine but now I have to take the whole thing apart and I still have to deal with the chipping 'stain/paint' that is happening all over the bed.



Resolved? I don't think so....

We thought compensation of half the price was a fair offer (knowing that we have to buy a new bed sooner than later.)



Olympic Furniture disagrees.
