BAD EXPERIENCE!

We collected our two year old Shih Tzu, Harley, around 10 a.m. Sunday, August 8, after five days at Bellingham, MA Camp Bow Wow. He was stressed, and clearly had not eaten based upon the full food containers returned to us. In fact, an employee named Amber said “he was picky” despite our having been daily assured he was eating, playing and really enjoying himself. He had diarrhea and loose stools through Tuesday, August 10.

When we finally reached the owner, Sally, on Monday, August 9, and asked why we had not been informed of the fact Harley wasn’t eating, she was defensive and hostile. She stated that it is not their policy to call pet owners and “ruin their vacation simply because a pet is not eating!” This is an outrageous and extremely irresponsible attitude for the owner of a pet boarding facility to possess.

During his stay, we viewed our dog on the camper cams and called several times to check on him. We were daily assured all was fine, when quite the opposite was true! We were lied to about his behavior and condition during the five days we left him. We would have gladly interrupted our travel to return and rescue our dog from his stressful circumstance.

We cannot recommend this facility for overnight boarding. In fact, we strongly discourage anyone who cares about the wellbeing of their beloved pets from considering Camp Bow Wow in Bellingham, Massachusetts.
