Bellingham Public Works is a department operated by the city of Bellingham in Washington. The engineering section provides design and construction of the public works capital improvement program, and preserves the natural resources. Its parking service division offers information about short- and long-term parking in Bellingham; meter hood rentals, vehicle permits, parking rates and fines; parking infractions and automated pay stations. Its transportation division provides various services, such as street repairs, sweeping, grading, and maintenance of bridges, traffic signals and street lights, traffic safety and the speed watch program. The department s utility section constructs and maintains storm and surface water systems and operates programs and activities, including public education. The department of public works also prepares development guidelines and improvement standards manuals.
