We took some stuff down to the store to help people out. They complained that the quality was bad on most of it. They did take the brand new bathroom counter top that came straight out of the box and then called the next day to say it was broken and we had to come pick it back up. It was Brand new out of the box! We only needed the base cabinet unit. We are sure they broke it then blamed us. We did not pick up their mistake. They promised to send us a bill for haul away.

Dishonest and crabby! I will never use this non profit again! It's questionable that a business this shallow really cares about getting funds to the needy. They'll sell you something they must know is defective and if you complain they tell you off. Just another scam against the needy. So sad. (Admiral Way store)

I had a terrible experience! The staff seemed untrained and unprofessional. I know they staff the store with volunteers but one woman in particular was really coarse and was talking negatively about the company. They don't test the appliances, but then if it doesn't work, you only get store credit. I spent $250 for a refrigerator (it was plugged in/working) and arranged for it to be delivered. The delivery process was the absolute worst I have ever experienced. Three guys, none of them seemed to know how to back the truck up to my porch. I had to stop them before they took off my porch rail, and then I directed the truck properly. They unloaded it and tried to get it through my door the WIDE way, AND used the handtruck on the delicate back of the fridge where the motor is. They nicked my doorway, and I had to insist that they stop what they were doing and turn the fridge around. Then they went over the doorstop so awkwardly they were wrecking the grill on the front of the fridge! Again, I had to stop them. They finally got it into my house, and then dragged it into place. I plugged it in, they left, and then I noticed they had gouged the floor in two places! I called the Executive Director and filled him in and he told me no one had every complained about the delivery before. I find that VERY hard to believe 'cause these guys clearly did not know what they were doing. I also don't know if the damaged the fridge by putting all the weight onto the motor side, and if they did damage it, I'll have to have these guys pick it up again AND only get store credit! I'll never shop there again. Habitat is a worthy cause, but they have gone very wrong as far as their retail stores.
