I supported this local business for several years and I always suggested this to friends as a great place to find gifts and personal items. At one point it got back to me that an employee talked with a friend about me loud enough so the other customers could hear. What was said was very unprofessional and so I mentioned this to the owner. Her solution to the problem was for me not to shop there on the days that employee is working. WOW! I was penalized like a small child and what had I done? I decided this was unacceptable and the easiest solution was to not shop there any more. I consider this poor supervision and very unprofessional. I can laugh about it because I do think it is a very odd type of logic the owner used in solving the problem. I thought perhaps she might say she would talk with the employee and try to make sure this does not happen again, I would have found that to be sufficient. Oh well there are other fine shops in Bellingham but unfortunate too because the Garden Room is a fun shop to go to. I will and have moved on but I still chuckle every once in awhile when I think back to this incident and the ridiculous solution offered by the owner.
