Provided by YP.comSuch an amazing dance studio. Both of my daughters take here and it's a home away from home. The owner, Mandy, is amazing with our girls and have taught them so much over the last 4 years. In the recent 2 years we have joined their competitive dance team and it has been SO MUCH FUN!! I highly recommend anyone looking for a dance studio to dance at not only competitively but also recreationally.

Provided by YP.comI would highly recommend this dance studio if you are wanting your children to dance somewhere that is professional and fun at the same time. Whether you are looking to enroll in competitive or recreational dance classes, you should definitely give this studio a visit. My great niece dances here and loves it! She is always so excited when Mondays come around because she knows it's a dance day. Last year her mom enrolled her in a nearby dance studio, but she was miserable there. They heard about The Movement & Co. through some friends and decided to give it a try and are very happy they did. I've gone with my great niece a couple of times to her dance classes and was very impressed with the instructors there. They include current/past high school/college dance coaches and professional dancers. And as a former professional dancer myself, I know that the children are being taught by the best of the best. Also, the instructors were kind, patient and fun! Love this dance studio!

Provided by YP.comI have had the pleasure of working with and dancing with a few of the teachers growing up and throughout the years. The teachers are an amazing group of girls that put their heart and soul into everything they do for this studio. They treat the children like theyre their own, which I feel is a must working with children. It's a great environment to have your children in. They are always there for the families and listen to any concerns the families have. I got the chance to sit in on a few different classes and the children were so excited and happy to be there, they had a fun time, but also learned a lot of new and challenging things. I will definitely be recommending this studio to friends and family with little ones and I hope that when I have children this studio is still here because its first on my list :)

Provided by YP.comThe Movement and Company has been a part of my family for two years now. When I say family, I really mean family. Everyone at the studio is there with the best interest at heart and I have never seen a more encouraging atmosphere for dancers. My girls have been to a few different studios, in the lee's summit area, and we have never felt as at home as we have since walking through The Movement's doors. My oldest daughter decided to compete this year and the entire process has been a breeze. I was nervous at first stepping into the competitive side of the dance world, but the staff and the other competitive families made the transition so comfortable for me. She has blossomed so much in just this one season of competing. I can't wait to see her a few years down the road.
My youngest daughter is just in recreational classes, but to me they could be considered competitive level classes. The technique they are learning in the classes are comparable to the competitive classes, they just learn the steps at a slower pace. I remember the first class of the year and they brought the parents in to watch at the end of class, I was blown away by the amount of skills they had learned in just one class period! They have continued to perfect these skills and have also added new skills every class period. Their recreational classes are a good mix of fun and structure. At a previous studio I felt as if the recreational classes were solely focused on playing games and as if they were used as almost a 'daycare' type of thing. The Movement classes actually teach the children how to dance, while still having fun!
The Movement has got a great thing going up there. There isn't a family I wouldn't recommend this studio too, and that says a lot coming from me, because I am often times a little too picky when it comes to my children. They have great variety in all of their classes and their staff is there to really help the children succeed and grow. I'm so happy we've found a studio that we can call home for years to come.
